THIS PIC AND THE STORY BEHIND IT WILL LIKELY BE HIS LEGACY.

DOUGIE MCBUCKETS, ENES KANTER AND A SECOND ROUND PICK IS THE BEST THE KNICKS COULD GET FOR HIM?  WOW…  WELL IT IS WHAT IT IS.. TIME TO MOVE ON.

AS I’VE  STATED REPEATEDLY A TRADE HAD TO HAPPEN BEFORE TRAINING CAMP OPENS ON MONDAY.  THE KNICKS COULD NOT GO INTO CAMP WITH THE DRAMA IN THE LOCKER ROOM.

MCBUCKETS,THE 26 YEAR OLD 4 YEAR CREIGHTON PRODUCT,  HAS ALWAYS BEEN A FUN PLAYER TO WATCH.  HE’S IN THE LAST YEAR OF HIS ROOKIE YEAR CONTRACT AND REACHES RESTRICTED FREE AGENCY NEXT SUMMER.  HE’LL BE PLAYING FOR A CONTRACT AND WILL SURELY GET MINUTES IN THE FRONT COURT WITH BEASELY, LANCE AND KUZ…   SHOULD BE INTERESTING TO SEE HOW THE PLAYING TIME GETS ALLOCATED.

KANTER, STILL JUST 25 YEARS OLD,  IS A PLAYER WHO’S GAME HAS GROWN IMMENSELY IN THE PAST FEW YEARS.  HE NOW OWNS AN ALBATROSS CONTRACT THAT COUNTS FOR $20.5 MIL AGAINST THE CAP (INCL. 15% TRADE KICKER) BUT IF HE CAN PUT UP POINTS IN MORE MINUTES HE MAY TURN INTO A PLAYER IN A CROWDED FRONT COURT.  HE HAS A PLAYER OPTION IN HIS CONTRACT FOR NEXT YEAR AT $18 PLUS MIL  CURIOUS TO SEE HOW HORNS USES HIS BIGS.  IS A TRADE OF KYLE O’QUINN NOT FAR OFF?   KANTER IS A VERY OUTSPOKEN PERSON POLITICALLY.  HE’S GOING TO LOVE BEING IN NEW YORK.  LOOK FOR PICS OF THE SEVEN FOOT TURK IN MAMOUN’S FALAFEL.

I REPORTED EARLIER THIS SUMMER THAT THE OWNER WANTED NOTHING MORE TO DO WITH HIM.. CLEARLY THE PLAYER WANTED OUT OF THE LOCKER ROOM AS SOON AS HUMANLY POSSIBLE.  AND CLEARLY MANAGEMENT WANTED RID OF HIM. THAT WHOLE PRESS CONFERENCE FRIDAY WAS COMPLETE SMOKE SCREEN.  IT WAS BEST TO MOVE ON AS PHIL JACKSON SAID MANY TIMES.

NOW WE GET TO SIT BACK AND WATCH OUR YOUNG PLAYERS GROW IN A STRESS FREE ENVIRONMENT WITH LIMITED EXPECTATIONS.  IT’S ALREADY A INTERESTING NBA YEAR AND TRAINING CAMP HASN’T EVEN OPENED YET.  GOTTA LOVE THE ASSOCIATION.  AND OF COURSE, OPENING NIGHT FOR THE KNICKS IS IN OKC/.  CAN’T MAKE THIS ALL UP./

IN ALL SERIOUSNESS, GOOD LUCK TO CARMELO IN OKC AND IN HIS LIFE.  THANK’S FOR THE MEMORIES.  #STAYME7O

See you in a little bit NY
