What’s New – Dec. 30, 2015

Should auld acquaintance be forgot,
And never brought to mind?
Should auld acquaintance be forgot,
And auld lang syne!

The Pistons are 17-15 with 7 road wins.  They are one of the teams the Knicks will have to beat if they have visions of playoff basketball this spring.

First star goes to Melo.  The Super Star finally showed up for four quarters and put in a complete two way game.   It wasnt his 24 points, 6 boards and 6 assists that gets him the first star.  It was his defense.

Second Star goes to the current favorite of the Lynch Mob one  Robin Lopez.   Lopez defense on Drummond was phenomenal.  This is the type of play I expected from Rolo.  Hellacious defense, rebounding and the occasional offensive smart move.  Drummond was clearly frustrated.

Third star has to go to the other member of the most hated society – Jose Calderon. Jose hit 3-4 from down town and 5-6 overall.  The knicks switched a lot of defense to cover up for Calderon and it WORKED.  Reggie Jackson’s effect was limited.

I can’t see the Knicks or any other team giving Wroten a shot before the Jan 5th start of 10 day contracts.  The kid obviously isn’t right after knee surgery last year.  Teams are likely reviewing his medical records and not liking what they see.

Knicks are still very much in the playoff hunt.  In the east there is just TWO games separating the TWO seed from the EIGHT seed.  With the WIN last night the Knicks sit at 4 games off the pace.  It looks certain it will take more than 40 wins to reach the playoffs in the East.  If the KNICKS were in the Western Conference they’d be the EIGHT seed.

Wonder if that get’s mentioned by the people who thought the Conferences should be abolished last year because the WEST was so good..I’m a basketball purest.  We should have two Conferences.

So we know he likes girls..
